JORDAN SHIPLEY BECOMES HER GAME TOO PLAYER ADVOCATE

Her Game Too is proud to announce that Jordan Shipley has been appointed as Shrewsbury Town’s Her Game Too Player Advocate, reinforcing the clubs commitment to tackling sexism in football and promoting inclusivity.

As a Player Advocate, Jordan will use his platform at the club to support women and girls in football and promote Her Game Too’s mission to ensure that the game is a safe and welcoming space for everyone.

The midfielder joined the League One club three years ago, having progressed through Coventry City’s youth academy and into the senior team at the Sky Blues, where he won promotion twice and scored 29 goals in 163 appearances.

Jordan said: “Women’s football is really on the rise with the success of England’s Lionesses.

“I am more than happy to try to raise awareness of the campaign by promoting it on social media.

“I’ve got two daughters at home so if I can help in any way with the Her Game Too campaign, I am more than happy to do so.”

Jordan aims to work alongside Shrewsbury Town’s Her Game Too Ambassador Lauren Edwards and Advocate Lucy Evans to support with campaign activities at the club.

He added: “I know Shrewsbury Town also has a really ambitious women’s team.

“I’m really pleased to be involved and will support Her Game Too in any way that I can.”

Lauren welcomed Jordan onto the campaign’s team at Shrewsbury Town, saying: “We are delighted that Jordan has agreed to work with us and join Her Game Too as a Player Advocate.

“We look forward to working together to build the partnership and see how we can spread the word of Her Game Too, and keep working to promote the great work that Shrewsbury Town do.”
