HER GAME TOO ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP WITH U.S SPORTS SCHOLARSHIPS

By Faye Hackwell Her Game Too is supporting young female footballers in the pursuit of their dreams through

a new partnership with US Sports Scholarships.

The company’s programme matches talented sports players with opportunities to study and

train at specialist colleges and universities in the US and Canada through scholarship

awards.

Her Game Too will be supporting US Sports Scholarship trial days held in the UK by raising

awareness of the opportunities available to female footballers, who may not have considered

pursuing their sporting ambitions overseas before.

The male and female scholarships can cover all or part of the costs of studying at an

American or Canadian college or university and places are awarded based on both a

candidate’s academic achievements and their abilities in their chosen sport.

Former England stars Eni Aluko and Karen Carney are among the English footballers to

have played in America, and the USA national team and National Women’s Soccer League

boast some of the world’s best female players.

Amy Clement, who is Co-Founder of Her Game Too and the campaign’s Swansea City

Ambassador, said: “I am super pleased to get the partnership with US Sports Scholarships

over the line.

“It holds great significance, particularly for passionate, young female footballers in the UK

who aspire to become professional footballers and play to the best of their ability.

“At Her Game Too, we hope to be able to share these opportunities with our network and get lots of young talent involved with US Sports Scholarships trial days to create awareness of options they have to progress their football overseas.

“What sets US Sports Scholarships apart is their professional approach and how they

support their athletes throughout the experience.”

Ellie Mitchell, who is Head of Women’s Soccer at US Sports Scholarships, said: “The whole

team is so excited to be partnering and working closely with the Her Game Too initiative that

champions inclusivity, women in sport and inspiring change in the sporting culture - all things that we too pride ourselves on doing, with over half of our clients and our own team being female.”

In addition to its male and female soccer scholarship programmes, US Sports Scholarships

facilitates opportunities in other sports, including rugby, golf, athletics, volleyball, tennis and

basketball.
